The title says it all, I am a media junkie. If I can read it, watch it, or listen to it - I'm there. I've been known to get lost in a magazine, show, book, or new album and not wander out for days. Anyway, I've gotten hooked on some really good stuff lately.
Lost - A few of my friends and my sister kept encouraging me to watch the show. I finally broke down and ordered it on Netflix(I will rave about this later). I'm not really going to go into specifics because I don't want to give anything away, but o my I can just watch episode after episode. It is extremely suspenseful, I am always sitting at the edge of my couch wondering whats going to happen next. It's a must see.
Dexter - Freaking amazing show. I am officially obsessed with it, I even got the books the series was based on. I can't even put into words how great Dexter is, you must see it to believe it.
That's really it for now I've got to go wash dishes, but before I go - Netflix. If you don't have it, you should seriously consider getting it. Their library is so complete and diverse compared to the regular neighborhood movie rental store. Plus it comes right to your door AND you can watch it instantly on your computer.

Christmas Craziness
I meant to write on a regular basis, but the craziness of the holiday season distracted me. Every year we have family over from both sides. I look forward to this party, every year it seems bigger and more fun. This year was lame. For one thing it seemed so incredibly small, granted there were people missing but still. It just didn't satisfy my holiday needs and now I'm left horribly unsatiated. Christmas day itself was fun. As usual we woke early, opened presents, and then my dad made us all breakfast. This year I got a trip to New York which was awesome, an annotated Bible, two books, moccasins, sandals, two jackets, and a couple hats. One of the hats looks like a cheetah, it has a mouth, eyes, ears-the whole bit, it even has ear flaps that have paws at the end. O, it is the most amazing hat I have ever seen before. Anyway that was my Christmas this year.

Dead Like Me
I completely forgot about Dead Like Me. Last night I couldn't sleep so I decided to watch Netflix online (I'm totally obsessed). I came across Dead Like me and had heard good things about it. To make a long story short, its great. There was this one scene where the main character, George, was telling her boss she had to leave for a gynecologist appointment. Her boss than precedes to tell her that last time she was there, her doctor made her laugh so hard he couldn't get the speculum in because she was all tensed up. I cannot retell it here and achieve the same reaction, but it was hilarious. I know a few people who say too much and its hard for me not to bust out laughing so I appreciate the humor. :)
Rainy Day
O my, I never understand how the rain transforms ordinary people into idiots. Driving to school took me about four times as long as it should. Granted I too tend to be a bit more cautious when there is rain, but people were driving ten miles an hour whilst others were speeding through puddles and drenching the poor kiddies as they walked to school. It was all really quite comical, but the best thing happened after school. I was driving home when it started to sprinkle and this lady wearing black sweat pants and a purple tank top apparently thought it was about to rain in biblical proportions because she started running. Side note - this lady had the biggest boobs I have ever seen. Anyway she is running through the crosswalk now when one of her boobs pops out of the tank top. I have never seen something so quite astonishing as this. On prior occasions I have witnessed boobs popping out of tops, but this one was huge and the running didn't help. Our fearless boob lady didn't stop running, no she just swiftly tucked it back in and kept on going. I had to pull over and control my laughter before I could continue home.
Another thing the rain illustrated so clearly today was the futility of road workers. When there is a pot hole in the street, a crew will come by and fix it. However every time it rains, the rain washes out the gravel in repaired pot holes. After the rain the crews come back and fix the holes again. I think with all of our modern day technology that surely there is a way to fix pot holes such that every time it rains they need to be fixed again. I mean cities everywhere must be spending so much money on the labor and supplies for this inane problem. I bet many a city could curb their deficit just by addressing the pot hole problem.
Finally, I got into San Francisco State today. It wasn't my first choice, its one of my backup schools. I love the city and all, but I'm not really all that excited about it. I'm in a weird, in between state when it comes to school. I'm excited to be moving on and getting closer to my goal, but at the same time I am completely unsure of myself or my choices.

Hodgepodge
This weekend hasn't been too exciting. The pressure of finals had me rein in my usual weekend revelries. My friend was directing the show Fools, so I decided I would go see that. I went last Friday and saw a different cast, and this Friday was the other cast. There were certain parts in this performance that were so much better than the first show; however, I think the first show was better overall. Either way the quality of the shows were much improved from the usual offering.
My cat Sebastian came home this weekend. To be frank, the cat is psychotic. Don't get me wrong I love him to pieces, but he rips out his hair and is afraid of balloons. Sebastian is so afraid of balloons in fact, that my mom's balloon impression freaks him out(to be honest its an amazing impression). Anyway, he'd been gone a week or so and he came back all dirty and skinny. My sister claims he wants to commit suicide because he keeps gazing up at her with sorrowful eyes. I'm glad he is back, because the nights are cold and he loves to cuddle.
Like I said not much going on this weekend, but I did manage to start thinking about the new year. I'm not all that into making resolutions and the like, but one think I like to do is make a list of things I'm going to do. So for 2009 I've got two things:
1) In Mexico, specifically Oaxaca every December 23 they have a radish festival. Basically, the radishes there get to be huge, foot long monstrosities and they carve them. During the festival they have a judging contest and hundreds of people enter in their radish figurines. I realize it doesn't sound too fantastic, but I am attracted to the off the wall.

2) I want to swim under ice. This picture doesn't exactly illustrate that well, but up north they have competitions and you free swim under the ice. Periodically there are cutouts for you to come up for air, they look like this cutout that the guy is diving into.
That's all I've got on my 2009 list. I'm going to try and post every idea I get as well as the aftermath of my attempting them.
Do you have any plans for the new year?

Setting Out
I've always wanted to write my own blog. After years of reading other people's thoughts, I was finally inspired enough to set out on a blog adventure of my own. Quite frankly I am not a good writer but hopefully I'll get my point across.
A little about me, I am a 20 year old college student currently attending Fullerton College. Planning to transfer next year as a history and psychology double major. Well those are the current choices, I've wrestled with choosing majors. I've fallen in love with many: Political Science, Business, Economics, English, Sociology, Anthropology. I'm all over the place, I've got ADHD and it is apparent based on the randomness of my interests-hopefully, this blog will reflect that.
Anyway this is a very slight introduction, eventually more will come across through my posts, but I felt an initial glimpse of myself was necessary.
